Round Lake, IL – Successful De-escalation of Armed Incident

Round Lake, IL – Yesterday afternoon, a critical situation unfolded in Round Lake, IL, where police were called to handle an armed individual in crisis. 

According to the Round Lake Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:30 PM on Tuesday in the 300 block of Carlisle Court. Upon arrival, officers found a distressed adult male with a firearm pointed at himself. The area was quickly evacuated, and crisis negotiators, assisted by the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System, engaged in dialogue with the man, successfully de-escalating the situation. 

The individual eventually surrendered the firearm and was taken into protective custody, later being transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The police department highlighted the effectiveness of their response and the importance of community cooperation in ensuring public safety.
