Streator, IL – A shocking act of cruelty has unfolded on the outskirts of Streator, LaSalle County, leaving the local community in disbelief.

Thunderbolt, a 28-year-old gelding, suffered severe injuries following a malicious attack on his owner’s property. The appalling incident, which occurred recently, saw Thunderbolt sustaining deep cuts to both sides of his face, inflicted by an unknown assailant or assailants.

The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office reported that the attack was discovered by the owner and a friend, who have since provided the necessary care for Thunderbolt’s injuries. Following a check-up this morning, the resilient horse seems to be on the mend, a small comfort to the distressed community. In a bid to apprehend those responsible, authorities are appealing to the public for any leads that could result in an arrest and subsequent prosecution.

The Streator community, united in their concern for Thunderbolt and contempt for this senseless violence, is eager to see justice served. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
