Naperville, IL – Sarah Adam, a native of Naperville, Illinois, is making headlines as the first woman to earn a spot on the US Men’s Wheelchair Rugby Team, which is gearing up for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. This landmark achievement in gender equality in sports marks a significant milestone, not only for Adam but for the athletic community at large. 

Adam, who currently serves as an assistant professor at Saint Louis University, found her passion for wheelchair rugby while volunteering during her occupational therapy school. Her dedication to the sport and her academic pursuits highlight her multifaceted talents and dedication to both her career and her athletic endeavors.

Wheelchair rugby, often referred to as murderball due to its intense physicality, has historically been dominated by male athletes, making Adam’s inclusion on the men’s national team a noteworthy advancement for women in sports.
