Orland Park, IL – Free “STOP the Bleed” Training Offered by Orland Fire Protection District

Orland Park, IL – The Orland Fire Protection District (OFPD) is offering a free, grant-funded “STOP the Bleed” class, aimed at equipping individuals with emergency bleeding control techniques.

According to the OFPD, the event is scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 08:00 am to 10:30 am at the OFPD Training Facility, located at 10728 West 163rd Street, Orland Park. This course, also known as the Bleeding Control Basic (B-Con) Course, is open to the public and specifically tailored for those without medical training.

Participants will learn to act as immediate responders, providing critical first aid until professional medical assistance arrives. The course is a collaborative initiative by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. Every attendee will receive a complimentary bleeding control kit. Registration details are available on the Orland Fire Protection District’s website.
