RENSSELAER, Ind. — A pivotal traffic disruption is on the horizon for residents of Jasper County. CSX Transportation has slated a six-day closure of U.S. 231, starting on Monday, October 16.

The railroad crossing between Walnut St and Vine St is the primary affected area, necessitating the closure for essential repairs to its at-grade crossing surface. Motorists are advised to recalibrate their routes.

The Indiana Department of Transportation has earmarked State Road 14, U.S. 421, and State Road 114 as the official detour pathways. Commuters should prepare for potential delays and stay informed on further updates.
