Beecher, IL – Fire Protection District Opens Recruitment for Part-Time Firefighter and EMT Positions

Beecher, IL – The Beecher Fire Protection District (BFPD) has announced opportunities for part-time firefighter/paramedics and firefighter/EMT-Basics. This initiative is part of BFPD’s commitment to maintain a progressive and responsive fire service for the Beecher community.

According to the Beecher Fire Protection District, they are looking to enhance their team, which currently consists of 47 part-time firefighter/paramedics and EMT-Basics, along with full-time and contract staff. The BFPD is known for its comprehensive response services, ranging from fire suppression to specialized rescue operations, and handles over 1,200 service calls annually.

Prospective applicants must meet several qualifications, including a high school diploma or GED, minimum age of 21, and specific certifications in firefighting and emergency medical services. The selection process for these part-time roles includes an oral interview, background check, and a medical evaluation.

The positions offer competitive hourly rates, with different scales for EMT-Basics and Paramedics. Additionally, benefits such as paid holidays, education tuition reimbursement, and an optional retirement program are part of the employment package. Interested candidates can access the application form through the Beecher Fire Protection District’s website.
