Mokena, IL – The Mokena Community Public Library District invites green thumbs and gardening enthusiasts to its Plant Swap event. Scheduled for April 27, 2024, from 1-3 pm, the event promises an afternoon of botanical exchange and gardening insights.

Participants will have the opportunity to bring a plant and take home a new one, fostering a community of sharing and learning. Alongside the swap, attendees can explore the Seed Library’s 2024 spring seed collection, gain valuable gardening tips, and participate in a raffle.

According to the library’s announcement, the event encourages plant lovers to “store” their plants in a transportable container and ensures all plants are pest-free and healthy. To aid the community, non-plant participants can bring a non-perishable food item to support the local little pantry, emphasizing the library’s commitment to community service. Registration is required for this event, which aims to connect like-minded individuals and spread the joy of gardening.
