Kankakee, IL – Free Summit to Fortify Community Resilience and Trauma Recovery

The United Way of Kankakee & Iroquois Counties invites the public to a no-cost Trauma & Resilience Summit on May 21, 2024. Held at Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene, the event promises to enrich participants with knowledge on trauma recovery and resilience building through keynote presentations, various breakout groups, and an experiential panel discussion.

According to United Way, the summit will feature keynote presentations on trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACES), and burnout prevention. Attendees can engage in evidence-based practice breakout groups, including infant massage and mental health first aid, complemented by healing response activities such as art therapy and trauma-informed yoga. 

The full-day event, running from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, includes lunch and continuing education credits. Participants can register at myunitedway.org/trauma-summit.
