Indianapolis, IN – Two Kayakers Ejected at Dangerous Dam on White River, Search Ongoing

Indianapolis, IN – Search operations continue for two local kayakers, Marcus Robinson, 30, and Solomon Shirley, 22, who were ejected from their kayaks after encountering a notorious low-head dam on the White River in Indianapolis. 

The incident, which took place near the 2000 block of North White River Parkway Drive West around 8:30 p.m. last night, has triggered an extensive rescue effort. According to authorities, the low-head dam, known for its deceptive appearance and powerful currents, presents a significant hazard to river-goers. 

Following the accident, emergency response teams, including the Indianapolis Fire Department and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, along with state and local agencies, have deployed shore, water, and aerial resources including UAVs and a helicopter to locate the missing men.
