CROWN POINT, Ind. — A crash at the intersection of Broadway and South Jackson Blvd. in Chesterton resulted in injuries for a 24-year-old Crown Point resident on Sunday evening, according to the Chesterton Police Department.

The collision, which occurred around 9:48 p.m., involved the Crown Point motorist and a 17-year-old Porter resident. The Crown Point driver stated she had stopped at the stop sign before entering the intersection but did not see the oncoming vehicle, suggesting the other driver may have been speeding.

Authorities noted a parked pickup near the intersection might have blocked both drivers’ views. The crash caused damages estimated at $10,000.
