Rensselaer Man Critically Injured in Collision with Semi on US 41, Morocco, Indiana

Rensselaer, IN – A severe traffic collision occurred on US 41 near Morocco, Indiana, involving a Rensselaer man and a semi-truck on Friday evening. 

According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at the intersection of State Road 114 and US 41. A 30-year-old man from Rensselaer, driving a passenger vehicle, collided with a stationary semi, driven by a 38-year-old from Chicago. 

The Rensselaer man sustained significant injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center in Illinois. The semi driver was uninjured. The Morocco Volunteer Fire Department and Newton County EMS responded to the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
