Lake County, IN – Authorities announced the arrest of Keith M. Peterson, a 36-year-old resident of Highland, IN, following an investigation into an arson that occurred on March 24, 2024, on the 3800 block of Alder Street, East Chicago. Peterson faces serious charges, including a Level 1 felony for attempted murder and a Level 4 felony for arson.
Peterson was apprehended today by the High Crime Unit of the Lake County Sheriff Department and is currently detained at the Lake County Sheriff Department Jail. The arrest coincides with ongoing investigations into a separate arson incident this morning at 138th and Alder Street.
