Michigan City, IN – A late-night incident on Sunday involving a stolen vehicle and a subsequent police chase on I-94 led to the arrest of three juveniles in Michigan City.

The ordeal began when Indiana State Trooper Isajczuk identified a white Volkswagen Jetta, reported stolen and linked to a recent shooting. The vehicle, seen near a local Meijer store, initiated a high-speed pursuit after failing to stop for law enforcement.

The chase escalated with the Jetta making a hazardous U-turn on the interstate, eventually crashing into a concrete barrier on the S.R. 49 westbound entrance ramp. Although one passenger managed to flee the scene, the remaining three, aged 17, 15, and 12, were taken into custody. Found inside the vehicle was a handgun, leading to multiple charges against the juveniles, including auto theft and dangerous possession of a firearm.

The Michigan City Police Department continues to investigate the associated shooting. The arrested juveniles are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
