Heavy Rainfall to Drench Central Indiana: Over an Inch Expected Near I-70

Indianapolis, IN – Residents of Central Indiana, especially those south of I-70, should brace for heavy rainfall today and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis forecasts showers to intensify by midday, continuing into the evening with isolated thunderstorms likely. Expected rainfall amounts range from 0.5 to 1 inch, with areas south of I-70 possibly receiving more than an inch. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are anticipated to linger into Wednesday. Impacts include brief, intense rainfall and lightning, which may affect outdoor activities and commuting.
