Springfield, IL – Central Illinois is set to experience significant rainfall today with some areas potentially receiving up to 2 inches, as reported by the National Weather Service. 

The region faces scattered showers and storms which are expected to taper off by tonight. While precipitation totals will vary, many locations could see between 0.5 to 2.0 inches of rain. 

A brief pause in rainfall is forecasted for Wednesday, but wet weather will resume Thursday and persist through Saturday. Residents should prepare for potential disruptions and monitor local weather updates closely.
