Indianapolis, IN – A hostage situation in a semi-truck at a McDonald’s parking lot in Indianapolis led to the death of the truck driver late Thursday night.

The incident, which unfolded near the I-69 and I-465 intersection, began with a 911 call about a potential hostage scenario. Upon arrival, Indianapolis police officers encountered a tense situation where a woman’s screams were heard from the truck, which led to efforts to negotiate were met with the driver threatening the woman with a knife. The situation escalated, leading to an officer fatally shooting the driver. Body camera footage captured the event.

The woman was treated for her injuries and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. This incident adds to a growing count of police-involved shootings in Indianapolis this year.
