Indiana Interstate Tragedy: Indianapolis Driver Hits, Kills Pedestrian on I-65

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — A pedestrian walking was fatally struck early this morning on Interstate 65, as reported by Indiana State Police. 

According to reports it happened around 2:15 a.m. near mile marker 172 when Ella Hollis, 46, of Indianapolis, was driving her Honda CRV when the vehicle collided with the lone pedestrian. Despite immediate response from emergency services, the unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene. Hollis sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The identity of the pedestrian is expected to be released following notification of next of kin.

Authorities, including the state police crash reconstruction team, are diligently investigating the circumstances that led to this tragic event on the interstate.
