Cannelton, IN – After several days on the run, Joseph Humphreys was apprehended Wednesday evening in Cannelton, Indiana, near the Kentucky border, following a brief foot chase.
The Perry County Sheriff’s Office reported that they received numerous tips this week, which culminated in Humphreys’ capture. This successful arrest involved collaborative efforts among the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, the Tell City Police Department, the Cannelton Police Department, and Kentucky law enforcement agencies.
According to the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit began when Humphreys, who has an active felony warrant, fled from Kentucky law enforcement. He was last observed in the vicinity of Pleasant Valley and Bell Hollow Road in Cannelton before being taken into custody. The authorities thanked the public and local law enforcement for their assistance. Humphreys is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
