Valparaiso, IN – A campaign aimed at improving school bus safety is underway in Valparaiso.
Launched in collaboration with Valparaiso Community Schools and local law enforcement, the initiative seeks to reduce the alarming number of illegal stop arm violations. From April 15 to April 19, 2024, educational efforts will concentrate on the dangers of passing a school bus with an extended stop arm, a violation that occurs over 450,000 times annually in Indiana.
According to the Indiana Department of Education, the pervasive issue endangers children’s safety daily. This campaign reinforces the message that when a school bus stop arm is out, STOP means STOP!
