ELKHART COUNTY, IN – An intense road rage encounter escalated to gunfire on the Indiana Toll Road, prompting a statewide appeal from the Indiana State Police.
The confrontation occurred around 6 p.m. Tuesday, near the 94 mile marker when a passenger vehicle and a Freightliner semi truck clashed. Verbal altercations led to the semi departing, only for the car to give chase and open fire, striking the truck. The gray or dark-colored suspect vehicle, possibly with a temporary Indiana plate, fled the scene.
