University Park officials announced last week a new Fulfillment Center will be coming to the area, supporting 800 new jobs.
This will be the sixth Amazon Fulfillment Center in Chicagoland. The other three include Naperville (MDW9), Romeoville (MDW6), Joliet (MDW4) and Monee (MDW7). Amazon is currently building a new Fulfillment Center in Channahon, expected to open by Fall this year.
Construction has already started near I-57 and University Parkway. Amazon Fulfillment Center jobs typically pay around 15 dollars an hour.
It’s expected to open by 2022.
