Addison, IL Initiates Warming Centers in Response to Severe Cold: Safety Measures and Locations

Addison, IL – In response to the forecasted drop in temperatures, Addison police have issued a public safety alert, emphasizing the heightened risk of cold weather, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and pets. Residents are encouraged to check on friends, family, and neighbors during this period.

The Addison Police Department, along with several local facilities, will serve as warming centers. These include the Addison Public Library, Centennial Park, Community Park, and Addison Township, available during their normal operating hours. The Addison Police Department itself will remain open round the clock.

Residents in need of warmth are advised to contact these centers before visiting. The Addison Police Department can be reached at (630) 543-3080, located at 3 Friendship Plaza. For additional assistance regarding cold weather shelters or other social services, individuals are encouraged to dial 2-1-1 or visit the DuPage County CRIS website.
