Hobart, IN – Emergency Warming Shelters Open Amid Freezing Weather

In response to the severe cold forecast, the City of Hobart, Indiana, has announced the opening of multiple warming centers from January 13 to January 17, 2024. These centers provide residents a safe haven from the dangerous temperatures. Locations include the PCC Lobby with 24-hour access, the Community Room at Fire Station #2, and the Maria Reiner Center for senior residents. For emergencies, residents are advised to contact Police Dispatch.

Additional support comes from local organizations like The Crossing @ NWI and Jubilee Worship, offering specific hours of operation. The Hobart Branch of the Lake County Library also extends its services to all Lake County residents with varied timings. These community efforts underscore the importance of safety and service in times of extreme weather conditions.
