The White House has issued new guidelines for Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The moves go beyond the CDC recommendation of less than 25 people gathering.

  • People should avoid gathering in groups of more than 10
  • People should stay away from bars restaurants and food courts and to not travel if possible.

Guidelines say states with community spread of the virus should close bars, restaurants and other public places. Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced on Sunday bars and restaurants would close across the state by the end of the day on Monday and not reopen until March 30th.

Earlier today, a 54-year-old man tested positive as the first case of coronavirus in Will County. No further details were offered by the IDPH officials.
