Black Friday Traffic Incidents on I-55 Northbound Near Braidwood Lead to Multiple Injuries

BRAIDWOOD, IL — A series of significant motor vehicle accidents occurred on Interstate 55 late Friday night northbound between mile markers 229 and 230. 

According to police reports, it began around 7:40 p.m. involving multiple fire protection districts responding including Braidwood, Braceville, Gardner, and Coal City. The accidents caused multiple injuries and led to severe traffic delays. 

The cause of the accidents are currently under investigation.
