Bourbonnais officials voted during Monday’s inaugural ZOOM Village Board Meeting to extend the timeline for Village liquor license renewals. Village officials unanimously approved Resolution 20-14 07, saying the vote keeps Bourbonnais ‘staying consistent’ with the State of Illinois on liquor license renewals due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
“The Governor extended the timeline to July 31st,” said Village Administrator Mike Van Mill Monday evening. Bourbonnais liquor license normally come due every year May 1st.
“A lot of the places are even closed, that have no income coming in,” said Mayor Paul Shore. “So we’re trying to work with them. If you would like your check back and want to wait until July, we can make some arrangements for that.”
Under the new resolution, businesses will continue to work under the old liquor license, which will be considered as current. New licenses will be distributed to the individual licensees in time for the end of July.
