Bourbonnais, IL – The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District has announced a public training exercise for ice water rescue.

According to their recent statement, the training will take place at the Municipal Center Pond from Friday, January 12th to Monday, January 15th. Residents are advised not to be alarmed if they observe fire department personnel in the water during this period.

This exercise is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to enhance their readiness for ice water rescues, a crucial skill given the region’s harsh winter conditions. The training is intended to ensure the safety and preparedness of both the fire department and the community.
