BOURBONNAIS, IL – The countdown has begun for the highly anticipated Bourbonnais Fish Fry, a beloved tradition in this community. With only one week left until the event, the Bourbonnais Firefighter’s Association is calling for contributions and participation. The Fish Fry, which has been a part of the community since the 1960s, not only brings joy to attendees but also helps alleviate the financial burden of emergency operations.

As of Friday, a total of $3,006.00 has been raised towards the $20,000 goal. To further boost the funds, an online auction has been set up, featuring amazing items up for bid. Interested individuals can click on the picture below to access the auction or make a donation towards the purchase of three “Rapid Response Kits.”

The Fish Fry has always been a cornerstone of community bonding, originally held at the Bourbonnais Rural Fire Department and now taking place only blocks away from the current location, which was built by the association using funds collected from the event. Over the years, the funds raised have played a vital role in acquiring essential supplies and equipment, ultimately enhancing the services provided by the Bourbonnais Firefighter’s Association.

This year, the association is requesting assistance from the community to ensure the continuation of this cherished tradition. Inflation has affected everyone, individuals and organizations alike, impacting the acquisition of supplies for the Fish Fry. Donations from generous supporters will enable the association to purchase the necessary food and packaging supplies for the event, ensuring a safe and professional fundraising experience.

All contributors will be recognized on a banner proudly displaying the steadfast supporters of the community and this event. The funds raised from this year’s Fish Fry will be allocated towards the procurement of three Rapid Response Kits for the association’s apparatus. With an increasing demand for EMS services, the upgrade will bolster the capabilities of the firefighters to address both fire suppression and emergency medical needs efficiently.

The Bourbonnais Firefighter’s Association hopes that community members will consider contributing to this longstanding tradition of outreach and cooperation. Your support will not only help the association but also foster benevolent memories of the firefighters who selflessly serve this community.
