ROMEOVILLE, IL – CITGO is making waves in the outdoor adventure scene as it generously supports the groundbreaking ceremony for a trail connection that will link the 3.26-mile Centennial Trail with the 11-mile I&M Canal Trail.

The ambitious project, announced in November, will result in a 14.5-mile continuous pathway, allowing travelers to journey from Lemont to Joliet. The Village of Romeoville, City of Lockport, and Forest Preserve District of Will County will utilize CITGO’s grant to develop and maintain the connection.

With new walkways, curbs, street graphics, a parking area, benches, a bike repair station, and more, the enhanced trail connection promises to showcase the beauty of the area and provide safer passage for outdoor enthusiasts. Completion is anticipated this fall.
