Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais is calling on residents to help reimagine Riverfront Park, which has not seen updates in two decades.
Located at 1200 Canterbury Lane, the 10.7-acre park is a focal point of the Imagine Bourbonnais initiative, aimed at revitalizing the area through community input. A public workshop was held on January 10, 2024, and an online survey is now available for those unable to attend, with responses accepted until Friday, March 8.
This consultation, led by engineering and planning consultants Kimley-Horn and Associates, marks a significant step towards the park’s first major improvements in 20 years. Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Schore emphasized the project’s community-centric approach, stating, “This effort is about realizing the vision our residents have for one of our most cherished green spaces.”
Currently, Riverfront Park offers amenities such as trails, fitness equipment, and picnic areas. The village aims to ensure future enhancements align with community desires, making this an essential opportunity for residents to influence the direction of park updates.
