Lincoln, IL – Central Illinois is on alert as the National Weather Service warns of an incoming severe weather threat slated for Tuesday evening and into the night.

Residents are advised to prepare for a combination of strong showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching up to 45 mph. The severity of the storms will depend on the earlier weather patterns on Tuesday, with the primary risk window identified during the nighttime hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, the approaching storm system, part of a larger disturbance affecting the central United States, could lead to severe weather conditions. While the full extent of the storms remains uncertain, they emphasize the importance of staying informed on the development as the day progresses.

The service advises keeping an eye on local forecasts and taking necessary precautions against the expected high winds and potential thunderstorm risks.
