Champaign, IL – A shooting in Champaign on Monday night has left a 34-year-old man hospitalized with severe injuries.
According to the Champaign Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:31 p.m. on February 19, 2024, in the 700 block of W. Vine Street. The victim, who was in his vehicle at the time, was shot multiple times by an unidentified assailant before being transported to a local hospital where he is now in stable condition.
The initial investigation revealed the shooter approached the victim’s car in the driveway and then fled on foot after opening fire. In addition to the man’s injuries, the vehicle was also struck by gunfire. Police are actively seeking witnesses and video footage from the area to aid their investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage.
