Chicago, IL – Midwest Residents Brace for Frosty Weekend Amid Rain and Thunderstorms

Chicago, IL – Residents in the Midwest are preparing for a sharp drop in temperatures this weekend following a weather system that brings rain and potential thunderstorms across the region. 

According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, the system will move through the area today, with scattered thunderstorms expected south of I-80 by late afternoon. The greatest warmth today will be near and south of US-24, with some thunderstorms possibly turning severe. 

A frost advisory is in effect for the weekend, with temperatures predicted to dip into the 20s outside of Chicago, posing a risk to sensitive vegetation.
