Chicago, IL – A diverse weather pattern is on the horizon for Chicago as the area anticipates a mix of rain and snow showers this morning, particularly south of Interstate 80.

According to the National Weather Service, Chicagoans can look forward to a dry and warm weekend with temperatures soaring to around 60 degrees on Saturday and climbing even higher, to the upper 60s and lower 70s, by Sunday. However, as the new week approaches, Monday is expected to bring rain chances back to the region, coupled with potential thunderstorms.

The early week’s wet conditions could lead to a cooler trend near Lake Michigan with Tuesday’s highs hovering between 55 to 58 degrees.
