Chicago, IL – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Chicago has issued a warning for gusty winds and blowing dust this afternoon.

According to the NWS, westerly winds reaching speeds of 35 to 45 mph will persist through the day, potentially blowing around light objects and downing small tree branches. These conditions may create hazardous travel situations, especially for high-profile vehicles on north-south roads. The winds are also expected to generate instances of blowing dust, reducing visibility to less than one mile in certain areas.

Travelers are advised to exercise caution, particularly in open areas and near freshly tilled fields.
