I-55 Shutdown Due to Dust Storm in McLean County

Interstate 55 southbound is closed at milepost 145 near McLean in McLean County due to zero visibility caused by blowing dust. Traffic is being rerouted onto US-136 through McLean. I-55 northbound is also shut down, with traffic rerouted onto I-155. Old US 66 is closed between Atlanta and McLean.

According to the Illinois State Police, motorists are advised to avoid the area until visibility improves. Drivers are reminded to pull off the road, stop, and turn off lights if caught in a dust storm. This advisory comes as visibility remains critically low in the affected area.
