LIMESTONE – A man has reportedly died after falling from a tree he was trimming only to have a large tree limb he was cutting fall on top of him.

It happened in Limestone Township Wednesday afternoon sometime after 1 pm when 68-year-old Roy Kruchten allegedly went out to trim a tree. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner reported Thursday the man was later found by his girlfriend lying in the front yard with the large tree limb on top of him.

The limb later had to be cut away by EMTs with a chainsaw to reach him.

His death remains under investigation by local officials.
