Update: As of 2pm Chicagoland Speedway had regained control of the page. Route 66 Raceway still remained affected by the hack.

Joliet, IL – Nearly 100k followers of Chicagoland Speedway’s Facebook page woke up to an odd request on Tuesday: change the page name for “rebranding purposes.”  The Route 66 Raceway page, with some 66,000 followers, was also attacked.

This disruption comes ahead of the SuperMotocross World Championship on September 16th at Chicagoland Speedway. The event promises an unprecedented blend of Supercross and Motocross elements. Each track layout will feature big air jumps, rhythm sections, rollers, fast straights, and elevation changes.

The championship boasts a record $10 million payout over the season. Tickets for the championship finals are now available through Ticketmaster, offering fans a front-row seat to this motorsport revolution.
