Body found in Des Plaines River in Joliet identified as Drowned man

JOLIET – A body pulled from the Des Plaines River Tuesday has been identified.

The Will County Coroner’s office Wednesday identified the victim as Anthony D. Dunn, 38, of Joliet. The Coroner’s office reports Dunn had drowned. Multiple agencies responded to the scene on discovery Tuesday when Dunn’s body was found near the 700 block of Railroad Street.

According to sources close to the investigation, Dunn’s body may have been in the river for some time.

Investigators are still working on how Dunn’s body may have ended up in the water. Illinois State Police are handling the case, toxicology results are pending.
