Bourbonnais, IL – Following the cancellation of the 2021 event, Chocolate Tour will return on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The winter event is co-hosted by the Village of Bourbonnais and Bourbonnais Township Park District, in conjunction with title sponsor Sweet Street. $30 tickets will go on sale Wednesday, December 15, at 9:00 a.m. online at www.btpd.org and in person at the Bourbonnais Township Park District Perry Farm Farmhouse, 459 N. Kennedy Dr. and the Village of Bourbonnais Administration Building, 600 Main St. NW.

“After months of review and gathering input from Village of Bourbonnais businesses, the overall response was extremely welcoming of the Chocolate Tour returning,” explained Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Schore. “There may be some slight modifications, but the event will continue to connect residents and visitors with the wonderful businesses here in the village for an afternoon of fun.”

“This fun event will satisfy your sweet tooth,” said Bourbonnais Township Park District Executive Director, Hollice Clark. “Chocolate Tour helps the park district support many programs, and we appreciate the partnership with the Village of Bourbonnais. You may drive by some of our businesses but never stop in, but Chocolate Tour motivates you to go into these stores and businesses.”

This marks the fifth year of the annually sold-out Chocolate Tour. The event will be structured similar to previous years: 350 participants will embark on an afternoon adventure indulging at 35 business stops within the Village. Each will receive a tour map for their decadent journey; a passport to receive a stamp at each destination visited; and a bag to tote along sweet treats. A completed passport may be entered to win the Chocolate Tour grand prize, courtesy of Andaul Jewelers in Bourbonnais, and the runner-up grand prize, courtesy of the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival.

Chocolate Tour continues its commitment to benefitting Bourbonnais with event proceeds
supporting the community through various projects, programs, and events. 2022 proceeds will benefit Robert Latham Community Room renovations and support new programs for children and family-focused events at Perry Farm Park.

Proceeds from previous Chocolate Tour events have benefitted the Event and Skate Plaza, Children’s Safety Center, the 1837 Log Schoolhouse Restoration Project and free events for the public.

$30 tickets for Chocolate Tour 2022 will sell out with a limited number of 350 available. The public is encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible.

Stops are currently full on the Chocolate Tour; however, businesses and organizations may continue to support the event via raffle basket donations. Interested parties may contact Lindy Casey caseyl@villageofbourbonnais.com 815-937-3570 or Cherie Smolkovich cheries@btpd.org 815- 933-9905.
