DeKalb, IL – Residents Warned of Ongoing Telephone Scam

DeKalb, IL – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has alerted residents to a telephone scam involving calls from a number posing as the Sheriff’s Office. 

According to the warning, the scammers are calling from 815-324-0261, a number not associated with the Sheriff’s Office, and are not identifying themselves. Recipients are advised to not return calls to this number, delete any received messages, and to block the number if possible. 

In cases where personal or financial information may have been compromised, the Sheriff’s Office urges contacting their non-emergency number at (815) 895-2155 to report the incident.
