Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a weather update for Greenfield Recovery Support, forecasting a mix of pleasant and stormy conditions over the weekend. Today, residents can expect mostly sunny skies with highs around 80 degrees and light winds under 10 mph, providing a perfect start to the weekend.

However, the weather will take a turn on Sunday. According to the NWS, a few showers and storms are possible in the morning. As the day progresses, the chances of stronger storms increase, particularly in the late evening into early Monday morning. The primary concerns are gusty winds, potentially reaching up to 25 mph, and locally heavy rainfall.

Tonight’s forecast remains mild with partly cloudy skies and lows around 60 degrees. Light winds will persist, maintaining a relatively calm atmosphere before the expected changes on Sunday.

The NWS also advises that active weather conditions will likely continue into the start of the new workweek. Additional chances for showers and storms are expected on Monday and Tuesday, keeping residents on alert for sudden weather changes.
