Family Shooting at Kankakee Residence Leaves One Injured

KANKAKEE, IL – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Thursday evening in the 300 block of South Evergreen Avenue. At approximately 7:52 pm, officers responded to a report of shots fired at a residence.

Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Riverside Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the victim was shot after being involved in an altercation with another family member.

Police are still attempting to locate the suspect, who fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Kankakee Police Department.

The Kankakee Police Department assures the public that they are doing everything they can to ensure the safety of the community and bring the suspect to justice.
