Former Illinois Health Department Administrator Arrested, Faces 33 Alleged Felony Charges

Watseka, IL – Dee Anne Schippert, the former administrator of the Iroquois County Health Department, has been arrested and is facing 33 alleged felony charges, including allegations of official misconduct and theft of government property. 

According to Illinois State Police, the charges come after a comprehensive two-year investigation by the Illinois State Police, highlighting concerns over personnel mistreatment, misappropriation of funds, and issues related to overtime payments within the department. Schippert, currently held in Iroquois County without bond, faces 17 counts of Official Misconduct, 8 counts of Forgery, 6 counts of Theft of Government Property, and two additional counts of Theft. 

As the case progresses, with a court appearance expected today in Watseka, more details regarding the charges and the circumstances leading to Schippert’s arrest are anticipated to emerge. This case represents a significant moment in local governance and public service accountability in Illinois.
