Elkhart County, IN – In anticipation of the solar eclipse set to captivate audiences on Monday, April 8, communities along the eastern coast of the United States are gearing up in unique ways. From schools in Texas granting students a day off to Ohio communities urging residents to stockpile groceries, the eclipse has stirred considerable public interest.
In response to this fervor, Elkhart Community Schools in Indiana is taking a proactive approach to ensure the local community is both educated and prepared.
Scheduled for March 28 at 6:30 p.m., a no-cost informational session will be held at the Engineering, Technology, and Innovation Building, located at 2510 California Road, Elkhart, IN 46514. The event will be led by Dan Walsh, an Elkhart High School teacher and a designated NASA Solar Eclipse Partner Ambassador. Walsh plans to offer insights into eclipse safety measures and discuss the scientific relevance of this relatively rare event.
Attendees will also receive complimentary eclipse glasses and can participate in child-friendly activities, highlighting the school district’s dedication to fostering a safe and informative eclipse viewing experience for all ages.
