Frankfort, IL – For the second time in less than a month, residents of Frankfort in Will County are left with unanswered questions as Fire Station 74 becomes unmanned once more. This unsettling repeat incident, first occurring on February 28, has sparked concerns over public safety and administrative decisions within the community.

Despite previous reassurances from Frankfort Firefighters’ Union, Local 4338, that closures would cease, the station found itself unmanned today, March 21, leading to criticisms over prioritizing cost savings at the expense of public safety.

Local 4338 has criticized the lack of efforts to hire back personnel and warned of potential delays in emergency response times, urging the Frankfort Fire District to maintain transparent communication with those affected by such staffing changes or closures.
