Frankfort, IL – Controlled Burn Scheduled at Hickory Creek Preserve

Frankfort, IL – Residents of Frankfort and the surrounding areas are alerted to a planned burn by the Will County Forest Preserve District. 

According to the Frankfort Fire Protection District, the prescribed burn is set to take place today between 11:00 am and approximately 2:00 pm within the Hickory Creek Preserve. 

The location of the burn is specified as north of Route 30 and west of Wolf Road. Prescribed burns are a key part of forest management, helping to reduce undergrowth and prevent larger wildfires.
