Chicago, IL – June begins with a gloomy note as rain hits the city today, particularly affecting the I-55 and I-80 corridors, where significant rainfall is expected, potentially causing road ponding.

According to the US National Weather Service, light winds and damp conditions tonight could lead to patchy fog into early Sunday. These conditions may reduce visibility for early morning travelers. However, clouds are expected to decrease throughout the rest of the day, bringing nicer weather for the first weekend of June.

Sunday will see a mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures expected to range from the mid-60s to low-80s. The cooler temperatures in the morning will gradually give way to a warmer afternoon.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday are forecasted to be warm and humid, particularly away from the Illinois shore. Monday will see the highest coverage of showers and thunderstorms, especially near the I-39 corridor. Tuesday continues the trend with widely scattered thunderstorms, especially in the late evening and overnight hours.
