Henry County, IL – Felony Drug Charges for Richton Park Man After I-80 Stop

Henry County, IL – A Richton Park resident faces serious felony drug charges after a Henry County traffic stop for a headlight issue reportedly revealed large quantities of controlled substances. 

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 8:47 pm on March 1, 2024, a vehicle was stopped on Interstate 80 near Mile Marker #25 due to a defective headlight and expired registration. The subsequent search allegedly led to the discovery of over 200 grams of a controlled substance and more than 500 grams of cannabis. 

Kevin G. Cunigan, 23, has been charged with a Class X felony for manufacture/deliver/possession of a controlled substance and a Class 2 felony for cannabis offenses.
