Hobart, IN – The Hobart Police Department announced a significant upgrade to their communication systems, receiving over $500,000 in grant funds.
According to the Hobart Police Department, they were awarded a substantial grant under the 2023 COPS School Violence Prevention Program and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
This grant allows for the acquisition of state-of-the-art radio technology, enhancing communication within all Hobart City School buildings. The effort to secure the grant included support from Senator Mike Braun and Congressman Frank J. Mrvan. The radios are designed to operate where conventional signals fail, ensuring officers can communicate effectively in any situation, crucial for safeguarding schools and the community.
